When Django depends on Keycloak, authentication availability, token validation, certificate rotation, and identity provider performance all affect the user journey. Treat Keycloak as a production platform, not a sidecar configuration task.

Resilience practices

Deploy Keycloak with high availability appropriate to the application criticality. Monitor login failures, token endpoint latency, JWKS retrieval, database health, and federation provider availability. Cache public keys safely and plan certificate rotation before it becomes an outage.
